Nordblock joins BTCHEL2026 ⚡️

Picture a Bitcoin miner that doesn’t just mine — it stabilizes the grid, recycles waste heat into Finnish homes, and helps energy producers squeeze 50% more profit from the same megawatts. That’s what Nordblock is building.

Co-founded by Jaakko Kaijala and Kasimir Kaitue, Nordblock is a Finnish company developing Virtual Energy Storage Systems (VESS) — a technology that turns Bitcoin mining into a flexible load that absorbs surplus electricity when it’s cheap, supports grid balancing when it’s needed, and produces useful heat year-round. Each megawatt of their system can replace fossil fuel-based heating and eliminate over 9,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually.

It’s the kind of work that quietly rewrites the story of what Bitcoin mining is and what it does. Far from the old “wasteful computation” narrative, Nordblock’s approach makes mining a building block of the renewable energy transition — exactly the conversation Finland is uniquely positioned to lead.

We’re proud to have Nordblock at BTCHEL2026, bringing real numbers, real case studies, and a vision for how Bitcoin and the Nordic energy grid can grow up together.
