    Nordblock joins BTCHEL2026 ⚡️

Picture a Bitcoin miner that doesn’t just mine — it stabilizes the grid, recycles waste heat into Finnish homes, and helps energy producers squeeze 50% more profit from the same megawatts. That’s what Nordblock is building.

Co-founded by Jaakko Kaijala and Kasimir Kaitue, Nordblock is a Finnish company developing Virtual Energy Storage Systems (VESS) — a technology that turns Bitcoin mining into a flexible load that absorbs surplus electricity when it’s cheap, supports grid balancing when it’s needed, and produces useful heat year-round. Each megawatt of their system can replace fossil fuel-based heating and eliminate over 9,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually.

It’s the kind of work that quietly rewrites the story of what Bitcoin mining is and what it does. Far from the old “wasteful computation” narrative, Nordblock’s approach makes mining a building block of the renewable energy transition — exactly the conversation Finland is uniquely positioned to lead.

We’re proud to have Nordblock at BTCHEL2026, bringing real numbers, real case studies, and a vision for how Bitcoin and the Nordic energy grid can grow up together.

    Toni Heiskanen joins BTCHEL2026 ⚡️

When Toni Heiskanen first stumbled across Bitcoin in 2015 during his university studies, he bought a small amount and promptly forgot about it. That changed in 2017, when he checked back and found his position had grown over 100% — and that’s when the deep dive began.

Since then, Toni has spent thousands of hours studying Bitcoin and what it means for money, freedom, and society. He’s the chairman of Konsensus ry (the Finnish Cryptocurrency Association), CEO of Strongest Group Oy, and co-author of two influential Finnish-language Bitcoin books: Bitcoin: Avain vapauteen (a free e-book that’s introduced thousands of Finns to Bitcoin) and Bitcoin – rahan vallankumous, written together with Janne Piiroinen and Jenni Selosmaa.

His message is consistent: Bitcoin is more than an investment. It’s a tool for understanding the flaws in the current monetary system — and a quiet revolution in how trust, value, and freedom can work in the digital age.

We’re thrilled to welcome Toni to the BTCHEL2026 stage. If you’ve ever wondered why so many Finns are paying attention to Bitcoin, his talk is the one to catch.
