Welcome to the BTCHEL 2026 Volunteer Team!

By joining us, you are helping power the Nordic region’s leading Bitcoin conference — bringing together developers, investors, builders, educators, and curious minds from around the world. Volunteers are an essential part of BTCHEL. You are not just supporting the event — you are shaping the atmosphere, the experience, and the community.

Volunteer Info Session

Thursday, September 10, 2026 · 19:00 (UTC+3, Helsinki time)
Location: BTCHEL Popup Store + remote access via Google Meet

This session will cover:

  • Overview of the event and production structure
  • Role expectations
  • Practical instructions
  • Open Q&A

Attendance is highly recommended.


On-Site Team Introductions

On Thursday, September 24, 2026, we will organize a 30-minute venue walkthrough (exact times TBA).

You will receive:

  • Venue orientation
  • Back-of-house access overview
  • Task-specific instructions
  • Final Q&A opportunity

Not mandatory, but strongly recommended for a smooth first shift.


Your Shifts & Schedule

Shift length: 6 hours
Minimum commitment: 2 shifts

Your individual schedule is confirmed in your acceptance email.

Event Opening Hours (Visitors)

  • September 25, 2026: 09:00–20:00
  • September 26, 2026: 09:00–19:00

Opening times may be adjusted slightly based on the final program.

Please arrive on time and ready for briefing at the start of your shift.

Used for attendee registration and badge collection.
Access to Merikaapelihalli is through the Glass Courtyard.

Before & During Your Shift

Check-In

  • Report to the Registration & Info Desk to get your wristband
  • Find your way to Volunteer Room
  • Collect your Volunteer T-shirt
  • Receive task assignment and briefing from your team leader

Meals & Refreshments

  • One meal per shift is provided during your designated break
  • Water stations are available — please bring a refillable bottle

Dress Code

  • Official Volunteer T-shirt (provided)
  • Casual, comfortable clothing underneath
  • Closed-toe, comfortable shoes (safety first)

Please change out of your Volunteer T-shirt when off duty to avoid confusion.


Getting There

We strongly recommend public transportation, taxis, or ride-sharing services due to limited parking availability.

No parking is provided by the organizer.


Community & Conduct

BTCHEL is built on respect, curiosity, and collaboration.

As a volunteer, you act as both host and ambassador for the event.

Access Outside Your Shift

You are welcome to attend talks and visit the expo outside your assigned hours.
VIP areas remain restricted.

Expectations

  • Be proactive and welcoming — a small gesture can define someone’s experience.
  • If unsure about anything, contact your team lead.
  • Support your fellow volunteers — teamwork sets the tone.

Professional conduct is expected at all times during your shift.


Communication Channels

  • Main Volunteer Telegram Group – you can already join the group here
  • Team-specific Telegram chats
  • Email for essential announcements

Telegram will be the primary channel for real-time coordination during event days.


Changes & Cancellations

If you are unable to attend your shift, notify us as soon as possible so we can arrange a replacement.

In case of last-minute emergency, contact the Production Team immediately via Telegram.

Reliability is essential to ensure smooth operations.

We will send a short feedback form after the event — your input helps us improve future editions of BTCHEL.


FAQ

Q: I have a friend who wants to volunteer — can they join?
A: They should submit the volunteer application form. If spots remain, we will contact them.

Q: Is accommodation provided?
A: No. Volunteers may use the Telegram group to coordinate shared lodging.

Q: Can I watch sessions during my shift?
A: Please focus fully on your assigned role during your shift. You are welcome to attend sessions outside your scheduled hours.

Q: What should I bring?
A: Refillable water bottle, phone + charger, comfortable shoes, and a positive attitude.
